Marburg Outbreak in Ethiopia: Current Situation
Marburg is a rare but severe viral haemorrhagic fever, similar to Ebola, that can cause serious illness and death.
Ethiopia's Ministry of Health has reported 12 laboratory-confirmed illnesses, including seven deaths, from Marburg virus disease (Marburg) in the country's South Region. Additional illnesses are under investigation.
