Opioid-sparing multimodal analgesia for post-craniotomy pain
This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of an opioid-sparing multimodal analgesia protocol versus a conventional opioid-based regimen for managing post-craniotomy pain.
A trial on post-craniotomy pain found that an opioid-sparing multimodal analgesia (MMA) protocol provided superior pain control and fewer side effects than an opioid-based regimen. The MMA group had significantly lower VAS scores and less vomiting, though patient satisfaction was higher with opioids.
