Dementia is an ever-growing public health issue with currently more than 55 million people worldwide living with this disease.1 Due to an aging global population, this number is projected to triple by 2050.2 Patients with dementia may experience a multitude of symptoms and be at risk for frequent hospitalizations due to disease-related complications and/or complex symptoms throughout the disease trajectory and as they approach the end of life.
