Mechanism of action
Ammonium Chloride
Ammonium chloride is used as an expectorant. It causes irritation of the bronchial mucosa, which results in the production of excess respiratory tract fluid. This allows for easier mucus expulsion due to its decreased viscosity.
Sorbimacrogol
Polysorbates are hydrophilic and are used as emulsifying agents for the preparation of stable oil-in- water emulsions in pharmaceutical products. Polysorbates may also be used for their surfactant properties in preparations for removal of ear wax, and for the management of dry eyes and upper respiratory tract disorders.
