General dosing range

• Topical (spo): Apply 5-10 sprays to roots of hair, leave for 30min, wash with normal shampoo; Comb hair to remove dead nits

Apply test dose prior to administration on small patch of skin on inner arm

Remember to disinfect clothing, hats, scarves by spraying items from 20cm away

- Preventative

• Topical (spo): Apply 3-5 sprays to roots of hair, every 3 days; Wash hair 8hrs after application; Treatment duration: Until end of epidemic

Bioallethrin
Bioallethrin is a pyrethroid insecticide used together with piperonyl butoxide to treat pediculosis. It is also used in anti-mosquito devices and for control of household insect pests.

Piperonyl butoxide
Piperonyl butoxide (PBO) is an insecticide synergist, which acts by protecting the co-applied insecticide (e.g. pyrethrins, pyrethroids and other pesticides) from metabolic attack thus allowing them to reach their biochemical targets. As a result of inhibiting oxidative processes in living organisms, PBO has intrinsic toxic potential to arthropods such as lice, ticks, mosquitoes etc.
