Changing Antibiotics
This guideline aims to assist healthcare workers with antibiotic prescribing for common clinical syndromes in adult patients in South Africa, utilizing Local and International guidelines, key publications, and expert opinion.
Once antibiotics have been initiated, the decision to change or stop therapy depends on the patient’s clinical response and culture results (see algorithm below).
Abx = Antibiotics, BSA = Broad spectrum antibiotics
