Disaster Management/Evacuation Plan
District level hospital guidelines applicable for interns and comm service doctors. Published in 2016
- "HOT SNOW" is the code used indicating that evacuation of all patients and staff in the unit/ department is to take place.
- When allocated to the ward/ department familiarise yourself with the following namely:-
- Professional Nurse in charge of the unit.
- Exits points
- Fire extinguisher
- Location of the Fire escape key
- Casualty
- Assembly area (recreational hall)
- JOB cards (these are in the unit indicating the responsibility of each staff member in the unit).
- Please participate when the ward/ unit is conducting mock drills
- Please remember your safety and that of the patients is of utmost importance.
