Intubation for mechanical ventilation
Emergency intubation without IV access (labour ward)
Intubation for mechanical ventilation
- Neopuff/ Bag-mask ventilation (oxygenate) and then
- Atropine 0.02mg/kg/IV
- Ketamine 2mg/kg/IV OR Morphine 0.1 mg/kg/IV
- Scoline 2mg/kg/IV
- Nasal intubation stat (confirm ventilation of both lungs clinically)
- Ventilate
Emergency intubation without IV access (labour ward)
- Bag-mask ventilation (oxygenate) and then
- Ketamine 5 - 10mg/kg/IM
- Intubate
- Ventilate
- Consult registrar regarding further management
