Quick Sepsis-related Organ Assessment (qSOFA)
The current recommended empiric antibiotic choices and empiric durations for suspected bacterial infections at CHBAH, based on consensus agreement between Infectious Diseases (ID), Microbiology and specialties after review of our 2018 antibiogram data, is as follows until directed therapy is possible.
| Quick Sepsis-related Organ Assessment (qSOFA) | |||
| Points | Respiratory Rate | Altered Mental Status | Low Blood Pressure |
| ≥22 breaths per min |
Glascow coma scale <15 |
Systolic blood pressure ≤100 mmHg |
|
| Points | 1 | 1 | 1 |
Qsofa ≥2 suggests a poorer outcome and should alert clinicians of possible infection when previously not known.
