Mechanism of action
Aluminium
Aluminium hydroxide reacts chemically to neutralize or buffer existing quantities of stomach acids but has no direct effects on its production. The action increases gastric pH, providing symptomatic relief of hyperacidity.
Magnesium
Magnesium is the second most abundant cation in intracellular fluid and is an essential body electrolyte. It is a factor in a number of enzyme systems and is involved in neurochemical transmission and muscular excitability.
