- Hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or any of its excipients
- Renal impairment
- Acute dehydration

- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Prolonged use
- Myasthenia gravis
- Other neuromuscular disease
- Sodium or magnesium restricted diet
Adult dosage
Forms avail. in SA and covered in this monograph: eft
Magnesium deficiency
- Oral (eft): 150-300mg, dly
The dosage should be adjusted according to the severity of the magnesium deficiency
The average daily dose is 4.5mg magnesium (0.185 mmol) per kg body mass
Dissolve in half a glass of water
