Mechanism of action

Aluminium
Aluminium hydroxide is a basic inorganic salt that neutralises gastric hydrochloric acid and thus has an antacid effect. It also inhibits the actions of pepsin by decreasing the acidity of the stomach

Magnesium
Magnesium is the second most abundant cation in intracellular fluid and is an essential body electrolyte. It is a factor in a number of enzyme systems, and is involved in neurochemical transmission and muscular excitability

Dicyclomine
Dicyclomine relieves smooth muscle spasm of the gastrointestinal tract. It has antimuscarinic effects on acetylcholine receptors and also has a direct effect on smooth muscle

Simethicone (Dimethylpolysiloxane)
Dimethylpolysiloxane acts by decreasing the surface tension in gas bubbles. In this way it prevents gas build-up in the gastrointestinal system
